Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) utilizes the healing power of isolated platelets from an individual's own blood to aid in the rejuvenation of their body's soft tissues and skin. PRP Therapy is designed to activate collagen production and help restore or enhance areas of the face which require volume.
PRP Therapy has been clinically used for more than a decade and has proven to be safe and effective. PRP Therapy is a great alternative for patients looking for facial rejuvenation but are hesitant about injectable neurotoxins or synthetic fillers.
When PRP is combined with dermal fillers, such as Restylane, Perlane or Juvederm it is often referred to as the "Vampire Facelift®" or "Vampire Therapy". These combination therapies enhance the "lift" effect and improve patients' facial texture, tone and volume.
How It Works?
During treatment, a small amount of blood will be drawn and used to create PRFM, or platelet-rich fibrin matrix, that can then be injected into any part of your face or body, stimulating cell growth and increasing skin volume through targeted regeneration.
What to Expect?
The entire procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to perform. The number of treatments needed may vary depending on each individual patient's desired outcome. Increased skin volume and rejuvenation occur over 6-8 weeks as new collagen and blood vessels develop as your own tissues virtually reverse the signs of aging naturally. The longevity of the results vary based on the extent of the procedure, areas treated, and number of sessions.
There may be some temporary discomfort during the injections. Occasional redness and bruising immediately following the treatment may occur which usually resolves within a few days.
